We are proud to be a member of the Professional Unification of Martial Arts, a forward thinking group providing up to date technical training, support and encouragement for all its members.

We accept new students throughout the year any time after their 4th birthday. We have age specific classes and a junior friendly syllabus designed to not only improve TKD skills but also develop self esteem and confidence. We have classes for senior grades, adults and Black Belts.

Our classes are based in Bristol in venues within the following postcodes BS8, BS9 and BS10. For a current class schedule please see the ‘upcoming events’ page.

Little P.U.M.A.s and

JUNIORS

P.U.M.A. has a dedicated children’s syllabus for 4-6 years old (Little P.U.M.A.s) and two specific junior grades (7+) designed to develop basic skills and confidence. These extra levels allow our students to progress at a pace that suits them, and to give them a sense of achievement before starting on their Taekwon-Do journey to Black Belt.

JUNIORS have their own dedicated classes subdivided into ages and grades.

Any students who have already been training in ITF affiliated organisations are welcome.

CADETS, ADULTS and SENIORS

Cadets are older juniors or those who have attained senior grade status who wish to take their training more seriously. Cadets and adults of all ages train together in a slightly longer lesson, normally 90 minutes. All students are expected to employ good self control and sportsmanship at all times which creates a safe yet challenging environment. The classes are equally demanding and nurturing designed around a framework of technical Taekwon-Do, Patterns, Sparring, Pad Work, Physical Exercise and Flexibility.

In C&H TKD there is no upper age limit, all are welcome.

Senior grades and Black Belts from other ITF affiliated disciplines are welcome.

TOURNAMENTS, SEMINARS and CAMPS

The Professional Unification of Martial Arts provides a full calendar of squad training, tournaments, camps and seminars that all our students can access. We provide domestic, national and international tournaments with an option to be selected by the British Squad.

Seminars run throughout the year both at school level and through P.U.M.A. You can choose to train in Bo Staff, Ground fighting and Applied Self Defence as well as Technical Taekwon-Do seminars with some of the current International and World Champions.

Every year on the first weekend in September P.U.M.A. hosts a special full day of free seminars for all its members taught by some of the most senior Martial Artists and specialist within their field. This is called P.U.M.A. day and is a celebration of the anniversary of its inauguration.

Each year we also run a summer camp where families come together in Croyde Bay to train, socialise and learn some new skills.

What people are saying.

“My two children joined C&H Taekwondo school when they were 5 and 7. They have learnt not only the martial art but also the tenets and discipline that goes with it.

Watching our children enjoy and develop under this training inspired both me and my husband to join the classes. It is not just a school but an extended family!

Now that my children are 15 and 18 and both black belts, Taekwon-Do has become a way of life and something we as a family dearly share, enjoy, learn and cherish together!”

— Sneha B, Student and Parent

“Taekwondo boosted my confidence, physical ability and concentration. I continuously stretch my limits because there is always something new to learn. In C&H everyone helps each other out no matter the grade, age and physical ability.”

— Oliver M, Student and International Champion.

“Ms Reeve and the teaching team at Clifton and Henleaze TaekwonDo helped me to realise my childhood dream of obtaining a Black Belt.

Along the way I discovered that I still have much to learn and more to gain. The school is a safe, friendly and social way of challenging yourself to achieve whatever TaekwonDo goal best suits you.”

— Pete W, Student and Instructor

“The best part of teaching is watching someone reach their potential and experience real pride in their achievement.”

— Ms Louise Reeve V Degree Senior Instructor
